STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF

  • UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS - LAPTOP TELE
    • Undergraduate students in the Laptop TELE model will receive a default set of software applications as well as course-specific licensed software for their university laptop.
    • To view a list of the 2019-20 software products provided by Ontario Tech for use in a specific course, please visit software by course code.
    • Course-specific software may be pre-installed to the university laptop or may require download via LANDesk.
    • Software download instructions for Laptop TELE students can be found on the software download instructions page.
  • UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS - BYOD TELE
  • GRADUATE STUDENTS
    • Graduate students are eligible to receive Onatrio Tech's licensed software where Onatrio Tech's existing licence agreements permit.
    • The most commonly requested software applications are available through the Software Portal.
    • Please follow instructions to download software via the Software Portal.
  • FACULTY AND STAFF

    Faculty and staff will receive approved software preinstalled on their university laptop and/or by download through a software deployment tool (such as LANDesk). If a faculty or staff member has not participated in the yearly software refresh process, older or expired software versions will need to be uninstalled before proceeding with downloads.

    Faculty members who teach undergraduate courses will receive the same software as the undergraduate students enrolled in their courses.  Please note that the software is provided for undergraduate teaching purposes only. Please contact software@ontariotechu.ca to confirm license coverage if other uses are needed (such as academic research).

    Addtional Software:

    If additional software is required please complete the online Software Form.

    • Where licenses need to be purchased and a cost is involved, ITS will contact the appropriate budget holder for approval.  
    • Once the software has been procured, the faculty/staff member will be contacted with details regarding how the software will be deployed.

    MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 PROPLUS

    Current university employees can acquire a licensed copy of Microsoft Office for their use - at no additional cost! Sign into the Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus page with your network login to view further details regarding this offer.


I can't find the software that I require for my course.  What do I do?

If there is specific software that you do not have and is listed as being requested for your course, please email the IT Service Desk or call 905.721.3333, option 1 and a service desk technician will be pleased to assist you.
