Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

  • Google Chrome backup instructions - sync method using your OntarioTechU.Net account 

    Step 1:     Launch Chrome.

    Step 2:     At the top-right, select the Profile icon.

    Step 3:     Sign in using your OntarioTechU.Net account.

    Step 4:     If you want to sync your info across all your devices, select Turn on sync and then select Turn on.

    Step 1:     Launch Chrome.

    Step 2:     Select the Chrome Customize and Control button (the three dots on the top-right). Select Bookmarks >

                      Bookmark Manager from the menu. Alternatively, right-click anywhere on the Bookmarks bar if it's

                      visible.

    Step 3:     In the Bookmark Manager window, select the Organize menu button (the three dots on the top-right).

                      Then select Export bookmarks.

    Step 4:     Chrome opens the Save As File Explorer dialog box so that you can save your bookmarks as an HTML file.

    Step 5:     Select Save and Chrome will save the bookmarks HTML file to a designated place.

    Step 6:     Ensure this is a secure, backup location such as Google Drive.

  • Mozilla Firefox backup instructions

    Step 1:     Launch Firefox. 

    Step 2:     Select the Bookmarks icon, select Bookmarks, then select Show all Bookmarks.

    Step 3:     Select Import and Backup, then select Export Bookmarks to HTML. 

    Step 4:     Browse to the location you would like to store the backup, name the file, and select Save. 

  • Internet Explorer backup instructions

    Step 1:     Launch Internet Explorer.

    Step 2:     On the IE toolbar, select File then select Import and export… (If the toolbar isn't showing, press the "Alt"

                      key to turn it on or off).

    Step 3:     Select Export to a file then select Next. 

    Step 4:     Check Favorites then select Next. 

    Step 5:     Highlight Favorites and select Next. 

    Step 6:     Browse to the desired storage location and select Export.
