At Ontario Tech, our commitment to cybersecurity is an important part of keeping our community safe. That's why our IT Services team has partnered with KnowBe4, a security awareness training and simulated phishing platform. 

This online training will help you recognize common security threats, respond effectively to potential incidents and take practical steps to protect university data, whether you’re working on campus or remotely. 

The training module will remain available until Tuesday, August 31, 2027 and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

2026 Your Role: Internet Security and You

From targeted phishing attempts to Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered attacks, social engineering attacks are constantly evolving. This training module teaches employees about common security threats, helping them to respond effectively to prevent security breaches and other cyber incidents.

On Friday, December 18, Wednesday, March 31 and Wednesday, June 30, we’ll draw for $50 Amazon gift cards. Anyone who has completed the training by each draw date will be eligible. 

Grand prize: 

Everyone who completes the training by the end of the campaign will also be entered into a draw for an Ontario Tech prize pack, including Ridgeback swag, Beats Solo earbuds and an Anker charger.
