At Ontario Tech, our commitment to cybersecurity is an important part of keeping our community safe. That's why our IT Services team has partnered with KnowBe4, a security awareness training and simulated phishing platform.

From Wednesday, October 1 to Thursday, December 11, all Ontario Tech staff and faculty will receive an email inviting them to KnowBe4, where they will see three interactive training modules. Each module is designed to be completed in under 20 minutes.

Prizes:

Staff and faculty who complete a training video each month will be entered into a draw to win a $25 Amazon gift card (one winner per month) and all those who complete all three modules by Thursday, December 11 will be entered into a grand prize draw, to win either an Apple Watch Series 10 (Aluminum) or a Google Pixel Watch 3. 

All training modules will remain available until Thursday, December 11.

Module topics:

Security awareness foundations

Gain a broad introduction to security awareness, covering threats like phishing and social engineering, and knowledge to protect your organization's data.

Social engineering red flags

This module will cover some of the latest cyberthreats, including business email compromise (BEC), authentication fraud, and impersonation using artificial intelligence (AI).

Identity theft foundations

Identity theft is one of the most common scams impacting millions of people every year, let's learn how you can help to prevent data breaches.
