Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Classroom audio visual support

The following services are available to all students, faculty and staff to assist with their classroom presentations:

Classroom support
  • Step-by-step instructional sheets are provided in each classroom to guide in the operation of the audiovisual equipment.
  • Media services technicians are available for additional classroom support if you require assistance with setting up equipment, laptop connections, require a demonstration of audio visual equipment and troubleshooting of in-class audio visual issues.
Rentals for classroom presentations
  • Various equipment can be booked, free of charge, for the duration of your classroom presentation.  
  • View a list of A/V equipment and resources that are available for loan. 
  • How do I request classroom support or book equipment?

    To request classroom support or to book equipment, please send an email to the IT Service Desk or call 905.721.3081. When booking equipment from Media Services for classroom presentations, please provide the following information:

    • Classroom number.
    • Date and time of presentation.
    • Equipment you wish to book.
    • Your name and student ID number.
    • Your teacher's/professor's name.

    If you are doing a group presentation, please select one representative from your group to be the person who books the equipment. In order to ensure availability of equipment, please book all equipment at least five business days in advance of the presentation date.
