Resetting Network Password

  • Faculty and Staff: Using a University Laptop

    • Please be aware that your network password expires every 120 days and will need to be changed.
    • If you are using an OntarioTech device that is domain joined and connected to either CAMPUS-AIR, or the GlobalProtect VPN service, then you can use the windows password manager on your OntarioTech asset to change your network password.
    •When you are notified that your password has or is about to expire, please follow the steps below to update the password:


    Step 1:
    Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard at the same time.

    Step 2: Select Change a password.

    Step 3: Enter your old password in the first line, and the new password in the next two lines. Hit Enter on your keyboard and the network password will be successfully changed.

     Please remember to change the saved password on all devices (phone, tablet, personal laptop, Mac, etc.)  to avoid being locked out. 

  • Faculty and Staff: Using Webmail

    Step 1: Visit https://email.dc-uoit.ca/ on your web browser. Sign in using your current credentials.

    Step 2: If your password has expired, it will prompt you to create a new password. To manually change your password, click select settings gear in the top-right and select Change Password.

    Please remember to change the saved password on all devices (phone, tablet, personal laptop, Mac, etc.)  to avoid being locked out. 

  • Students: Using Self-Service Network Password Management Tool

    The Self-Service Network Password Management tool is currently unavailable. Please call the IT Service Desk at 905.721.3333, option 1 to have your password reset.

    Step 1: Visit Self-Service Network Password Management tool.

    Step 2: Make sure your profile is setup correctly. Select Create/Edit my Profile.

    Step 3: Sign in with your university credentials and select Logon. Make any changes to your security questions as required.

    User Name: Banner ID (100XXXXXX)
    Password: Network password (this is the password used to log into your computer)

    If you are unable to create your profile, please contact the IT Service Desk.

    Step 4: Change your password by going back to the Self-Service Network Password Management and select Reset my Password.

    Step 5: Enter in your Banner ID and select Logon. You will be prompted to answer your security questions before being allowed to change your password.

    The password must be at least 8 characters long, and use a mixture of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers. Read more on How to Create a Strong Password.

  • Students: Using Self-Service Network Password Management Tool to Unlock Account

    The Self-Service Network Password Management tool is currently unavailable. Please call the IT Service Desk at 905.721.3333, option 1 to have your account unlocked.

    If you already have set up a profile for the Self-Service Network Password Management portal you can quickly unlock your account.

    Step 1: Visit Self-Service Network Password Management tool.

    Step 2: Select Unlock my Account.

    Step 3: Answer your security questions. After answering all of them the account will be unlocked.
