Graduating student laptop purchase and return

Laptop TELE graduating students are eligible to purchase their university laptops if they have applied to graduate through MyCampus and paid the equivalent of two-years TELE fees (full-time). Please visit the Laptop Distribution Centre after your last exam to start the process. Please note: graduating students returning from Letter of Permission (LOP) must purchase within their graduating year.

Things to remember:

  • MyCampus registration is not required for this session.
  • Ensure to back up your files and documents prior to starting this process.
  • If you are experiencing any technical issues with your current laptop, please visit the IT Service Desk to have those issues resolved 2-3 weeks before you attend the Laptop Distribution Centre.
  • Your laptop will be erased and loaded with Windows (factory preload).

Download of Microsoft Office and Windows: 

  • Microsoft Office and Windows can be downloaded at no additional cost.
  • Once you have completed the purchase process, please visit

Terms of software download:

  • You can apply the software licenses to one device only. Each software application, however, can be downloaded twice to allow you to move to a different device, change versions or reinstall after a hardware or software issue.
  • You can install the version of Windows and Microsoft Office of your choosing from the versions available to you in Kivuto, however, the software license is for one device only.
  • You will have 30 days to download Windows and Microsoft Office after you create an account on Kivuto. *You have the option to extend the 30 day download period by purchasing an Extended Access Guarantee for $4.95 during installation.

Laptop TELE student, if you are:

  • A part-time student
  • A full-time student in the winter only
  • Changing full-time or part-time status
  • Changing programs
  • Withdrawing from the university (you are required to return your laptop immediately)

Please return the university laptop to the Laptop Distribution Center after your last exam. Full-time students in the fall and winter terms are eligible to keep their UOIT laptop over the summer months.
