Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Installing Respondus LockDown Browser – Instructions for BYOD Students

Step 1: Please visit Respondus Assessment Tools for Learning

Step 2: Note that in the left panel on this web page, you can check the system requirements for Respondus LockDown Browser and access a Mac version, if necessary.

Step 3: Within the Terms & Conditions panel at the right side of the page, select the Install Now button.

Step 4: A pop-up window may appear at the bottom of your screen asking if you wish to run or save the file – select Run.
Step 5:
An installation wizard (pop-up window) should appear on your screen. Select the language you would prefer for the installation and select Next.

Step 6: After reading the license agreement, choose whether to accept the license agreement using the radio buttons at the bottom of the pop-up window and select Next.
Step 7:
When the installation wizard is complete (as indicated in the Installation Wizard pop-up window), select Finish at the bottom right corner of the pop-up window.
Step 8: If a link to the program does not appear on your desktop, you should be able to search for it by typing ‘LockDown’ into your computer’s search tool.
