Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Gmail Preview Pane

Please follow the steps below to add the preview pane to your OntarioTechu.Net Gmail page.

  1. Login to OntarioTechu.Net.
  2. Select the gear OntarioTechu.Net settings gearin the upper right hand corner of the mail page.
  3. Select “Settings" from the drop down menu.
  4. Select “Labs” from the tabs along the top of the settings page.
  5. Scroll down the page until you find a new feature titled “Preview Pane”.
  6. Select the radio button beside “enable”.
  7. Scroll to the top or bottom of the page and select "Save Changes".
  8. Select the toggle button OntarioTechu.Net toggle button iconin the upper right hand corner when you are back on the mail home page to choose how you would like your preview pane to display. Vertical or horizontal split.

Optional: If you would like to have your messages stay marked as un-read, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select the gear OntarioTechu.Net settings gearin the upper right hand corner of the mail page.
  2. Select “Settings" from the drop down menu.
  3. Select "General"   from the tabs along the top of the settings page.
  4. Scroll to find the section labelled "Preview Pane".
  5. Select "never" in the drop down beside "Mark conversation as read".
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Save Changes".
