Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Booking a studio room using the university's online room booking tool

Step 1: Open the Online Room Booking Tool.

Step 2: Select the Log in icon at the top right-hand side of the page. 

Step 3: A prompt will then appear. Enter your username and network password and hit Sign in

Step 4: Once authenticated, you will then be able to access the different functions of the Online Booking Tool.

Step 5: Go to the Book a Space tab on the left-side navigation.

Step 6: Select the Space Search link. 

Step 7: Once in the Space Search page, a listing of spaces will appear based on the location drop-down menu. (Note that the location default is UON - North Location. The location can be adjusted to change location as well as buildings.)

Step 8: Check the Use additional criteria box. 

Step 9: In the Room Types box, select Studio - Flexible Hybrid Studio

Step 10: Select on the Calendar View to see the daily schedule of the space. 

Step 11: The date can then be adjusted by clicking on the calendar icon. 

Step 12: Select the desired date. The space schedule will then appear. 

Step 13: To book the space, simply click in the available time slot. 

Step 14: A Create a Booking prompt will appear: 

  • Adjust the Start Time and Duration fields as required. (Note that the booking tool does not have an End Time field, but rather a Duration field.)
  • Select Verify Availability button.
  • Select the Book button. 

Step 15: Enter the Course Code for which your booking pertains to.

Step 16: A confirmation email will then be sent to the user.

Step 17: The booking will then appear in My Calendar and My Bookings
